Children and young people
Children and young people are very welcome at all of our services.
Our All-Age service, Children’s Service and Junior Church are particularly enjoyable for young families:
All-Age Service
On the first Sunday of the month, we all gather in the morning for one service, at 10.30am, along with members from our Scouts,
Cubs and Beavers. It is very similar to our usual parish Eucharist and still includes Holy Communion, but the service is slightly
shorter, and includes a fun, interactive talk, aimed at engaging everyone, aged 5 to 95.
Children’s Service
On the third Sunday of the month, at St John’s, we have a Children’s Service at 9.30am. The service is aimed at children from
babies up to around age 11. It lasts for about half an hour, and includes lots of noise, singing, and fun as we learn more about
Jesus. Afterwards there are refreshments and time to run around when the sun is shining.
Junior Church (aka Sunday School)
During the Covid Pandemic Junior Church is Suspended.
Special children’s teaching and activities take place during the Parish Eucharist on the
second and fourth Sundays of the month at St Luke’s, and on the second Sunday of the
month at St John’s. The young people start the service with everyone else in the main
body of the church, and then depart for their activities about 10 minutes into the
worship. They return again during Communion for the rest of the service!
