St John’s Church Description St John’s Church is a small 19th century country church, situated on the corner of Theobalds Park Road and Strayfield Road, in the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of the Clay Hill conservation area: a uniquely rural venue within the M25. It is on the edge of Hilly Fields Park and within walking distance of the many garden centres in Crews Hill. The church may be hired either separately from or together with St John’s Church Hall. Uses St John’s Church nave is 15.5m x 6.5m (capacity: 100 standing, 100 seated) and provides an attractive venue for a wide range of activities, including concerts, quiet days, plays, exhibitions and public meetings. The furniture in the central nave of the church can all be moved and/or re- configured, so as to provide the maximum flexibility. Activities can be extended outdoors into the large grassed area adjacent to the Church. There are a number of scenic walks in the area of the church, details of which are available on request. A traditional country pub, the Rose and Crown is situated five minutes' walk from the church Transport St John's Church is approximately 1km from Crews Hill and Gordon Hill Stations, from which there are approximately three trains per hour during the day into and out of London. Parking is available in the streets around the church, and a small number of spaces are available within the church grounds.
